Deaf Ministry
At Hope Baptist Church, we love the deaf and hard-of-hearing and it shows. Many times the deaf have not had the opportunity to be under sound biblical teaching. It is important that they know the eternal truths of the Bible. Because of that, all services are signed in ASL for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. The deaf are an integral part of the ministry here at HBC. Our growing deaf ministry is exciting to all who participate.
A separate ASL deaf Bible study class is held every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. Our desire is to carefully teach the Bible in-depth with lessons especially designed for the deaf. An ASL Bible study class is also provided deaf and hard-of-hearing children. It is an exciting time to learn about the Word of God.
The deaf at HBC have regular fellowship and socials year round; bowling, miniature golf, Christmas parties, trips to see dramas about the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, Christian films for the deaf, etc.
Fantastic Saturdays are held regularly. Deaf and deaf workers from 3 states are invited to these all-day events. There is fun, games, training, and encouragement for all.
Other activities:
Basic and advanced ASL signing classes, Visitation, assistance, and encouragement to the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
